Posted by BK Ultrasound on Jul 29, 2014 10:06:00 AM

In this "Blockjocks" video from the Andrews Institute, Dr. Brandon Winchester demonstrates an ultrasound guided tap block for an inguinal hernia surgery. Dr. Winchester identifies relevant anatomy on ultrasound, starting at 3:15:

  • the external and internal oblique muscles
  • the transversus abdominis muscle
  • the tap plane between the internal oblique and the transverse abdominis.

He also shows how to hydro dissect local anesthesia from the place of the tap plane puncture along towards the posterior.
